Documentary film competition called Equal.doc

It has been 10 years since the Anti-Discrimination Act entered into force. For this occasion, the ombudswoman organized a student documentary film competition called Equal.doc. The aim of the competition was to find out how young people view the issues of equality and discrimination.

Students aged fifteen to nineteen from all around the country were asked to produce a short (10 min. maximum) documentary film about equality or discrimination. The main prize was screening of the winning documentary at Summer Film School Uherské Hradiště and the awards ceremony itself at the Office of the Ombudswoman.

The competition was held under the auspices of the UN Czech Republic and Equinet – the European Network of Equality Bodies.

The expert jury selected the winning film “Diskriminace’’ (Discrimination) from the authors Ema Ostřížková and Karolína Žáková from Ostrava.
